The Laphroaig Càirdeas is 89.99 @ K&L so a great price. They prob won't hang around too long. There were also some Kirkland Islay bottles back in stock for 35.99.This is a Islay single malt bottled for Costco's Kirkland brand by Alexander Murray. The label only tells us that it's matured in oak casks and 100 proof. It doesn't have an age, mention chill filtration, or color. My assumption going in is this is a young Caol Ila based on which Islay distilleries usually provide a lot of casks for IBs.

Caol Ila can make 6,500,000 liters per year—all with the exception of a tiny bit peated. Bruichladdich can make 1,500,000 liters, and that's across all three ranges, and they make less Port Charlotte than unpeated Bruichladdich. So Caol Ila probably produces 10x as much peated whisky as Bruichladdich.The Kirkland Islay is very good as well, no age statement and 100 proof.
