BY THE WAY @Community, drying wood doesn’t produce tar, like the journey step says. It produces dry wood and RESIN. If you haven’t corrected it already in the next patch, you might want to consider it. I really love what they did with the journey steps, though. It was a great improvement and it teaches the game fairly well.

I can build or replace whatever I want, it didnt count for “Build or Upgrade a Building Piece”. I tried different materials or building pieces, all the same. No progress at the journey. Please fix it! Journey Steps: Acquire Gold. I cannot seem to trigger the Acquire Gold journey step for Potionmaker. I have travelled to the volcano and mined obsidian (on the first part of the Road of the Pilgram). This gave me goldstone which did not trigger the step. Smelting the goldstone gives a Gold bar which does not trigger the step.

So the "before it reaches you" part is not a requirement... you can stand toe to toe with them and shoot their face... Based on the above, also make sure that Creative mode is turned OFF.

Solution: you are not having the pet/thrall use the food, you are using it for yourself but from their inventory so the food item must be something the player character can eat/consume. It doesn't matter what food you put in their inventory, so long as it's food you yourself can eat.

Seems you need to use the stone weapons you crafted in prior steps to get it to work, that’s how I fixed it myself since I tried using my own and it didn’t work. Single player/co-op character transfer still works but it seems the new journey steps weren’t tested using it, you’re only choice would be wait for a fix or start new characters and give yourself the stuff you had from EL with the admin panel.
